WordPress Photo Challenge : Macros of Unseen Textures

Normally the surface of my wife’s old wooden ‘kist’ looks and feels smooth and polished but under a macro lens you can see canyons filled with polish blackened with age, ridges and cracks. I hoped to see the woodgrain and you can see some of that but not as much as I expected. The surface is almost more wax than wood.

You can see the furry textures of the petals that appear smooth to the naked eye.

When you see the whole of the Zinnia flower, you see different textures.
